Selecting the Right Logo Process
Logo processing begins after the keychain material, dimensions and surface requirements have been confirmed. The appropriate method depends on the base material, artwork detail, number of colors, logo size, surface shape and required appearance.
Arvexin Keychain supports laser engraving, mechanical engraving, printing, embossing and molded logo effects where suitable. Metal, PVC, acrylic, rubber and leather keychains require different branding processes, so every project is reviewed according to its actual construction.
Buyers can compare suitable methods through our logo and branding options before requesting a sample.
Engraving on Metal Keychains
Laser engraving is commonly used for logos, names, numbers and simple artwork on suitable metal surfaces. It creates a permanent mark without adding a printed ink layer. The final contrast depends on the metal, plating, surface finish and engraving settings.
Mechanical or recessed engraving may be considered when the design requires a deeper physical mark. The engraving depth, line width and position must be suitable for the product thickness.
Important details include:
- Logo size and exact position
- Engraving depth or marking effect
- Front, back or double-sided application
- Distance from edges and attachment holes
- Metal plating and surface finish
- Required contrast and legibility
Very fine lines or small text may lose clarity when reduced to keychain size. Artwork should therefore be checked at the actual production dimensions before processing.
Printing on Acrylic, Metal and Plastic
Printing is suitable for multicolor artwork, detailed graphics and designs that cannot be reproduced effectively through engraving. Depending on the product construction, printing may be applied to acrylic, coated metal, plastic or another prepared surface.
Acrylic keychains can use full-color artwork with a custom-cut outline. The artwork should define the print area, cutting line, bleed, front and back orientation, and whether white ink or a transparent effect is required.
For metal and plastic keychains, the surface must be suitable for ink adhesion. Curved, textured or very small surfaces may limit the printable area. A physical sample is recommended when color, registration or durability is important.
Printed colors may appear different from the original screen display. Pantone references or approved physical samples should be provided for projects requiring controlled brand colors.
Molded, Embossed and Debossed Logos
Soft PVC and rubber keychains can incorporate logos directly into the molded structure. Logos may be raised, recessed or formed as separate color areas. The design must provide enough line width, spacing and depth for stable molding.
Leather and PU leather keychains may use embossed, debossed or printed branding. The result depends on the material texture, thickness and artwork detail. Deep embossing or very fine lines may not reproduce consistently on every leather surface.
Molded logo requirements should be confirmed during mold and tooling development. Changing the logo size, relief or position after tooling has been completed may require mold adjustment or replacement.
Artwork Review Before Sampling
Vector artwork is preferred for logo processing. Buyers should provide an original AI, EPS, PDF or another usable vector file where possible.
The artwork should identify:
- Logo dimensions
- Placement and orientation
- Required colors
- Front and back details
- Engraving, printing or molded effect
- Clear space around the logo
- Product surface finish
- Approved color references
A digital layout can confirm the approximate logo size and position, but it cannot fully represent engraving contrast, ink appearance, embossing depth or material texture. A physical pre-production sample is recommended before customized bulk manufacturing.
Pre-Production Sample Approval
The sample should be reviewed under normal lighting and compared with the approved artwork. Buyers should check logo size, placement, orientation, color, edge definition, engraving depth and overall visibility.
If the keychain uses several branding methods, each process should be approved separately. For example, a metal keychain may combine engraving with printed color, while a leather keychain may combine embossing with a metal logo plate.
Changes requested after approval may affect setup costs, tooling and production lead time.
Logo Inspection During Bulk Production
Logo processing is checked against the approved sample and written specification. Inspection points may include:
- Logo size and position
- Engraving clarity and depth
- Printed color and alignment
- Missing ink or blurred edges
- Molded logo definition
- Embossing position and pressure
- Surface scratches or contamination
- Consistency across the production batch
Products with incorrect logo orientation, unclear text, missing print or visible processing defects should be separated before assembly and packing.
The logo should also be inspected together with the selected color and surface finish, as plating, gloss, texture and material color can affect the final appearance.
MOQ, Sample Time and Bulk Lead Time
Standard custom keychain orders normally start from around 500–1,000 pieces per design. Complex molded logos, multiple print colors, several logo positions or private label programs may require approximately 1,000–3,000 pieces.
Custom samples usually require around 7–15 days, depending on the material, tooling and logo method. Bulk production normally requires around 25–40 days after the sample and written specifications are approved.
Repeated color adjustment, double-sided processing, new tooling or several branding methods may extend the production schedule.
Factors Affecting the Quotation
Logo processing costs depend on:
- Keychain material and surface condition
- Logo method
- Logo size and number of positions
- Number of printed colors
- Front, back or double-sided processing
- Artwork complexity
- Required surface finish
- Order quantity
- Packaging requirements
Tooling, printing setup, sample charges and bulk unit prices should be identified separately where applicable.
